Job Description

Your Role as Direct Support Staff

In this role, you will work with "Higher Functioning" young adults to provide and support their independence and promote positive outcomes through personalized mentoring and leadership, to help them achive independent living.

This is not 24 hour care, this is not homes with roomates or other clients, No handling medications and No overnights and again, No Weekends.  These are individuals who, live on their own and or live with parent/guardians and only get "hourly Support". When your shift is over, you are finished for the day.

Some of your Duties:

  • Direct one-on-one mentoring to clients in their homes and within the community. Help in fun activities. Going to Kroc, Shopping, Fishing, Hiking, Swimming, Working Out, Community events.
  • You will teach life skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, scheduling, and personal organization.
  • Transport clients to appointments, and recreational activities using your personal, insured vehicle. (Required)
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive living environment around them, ensuring that clients feel empowered and encouraged.
  • Collaborate with other staff, Guardians/Parents, and Service Coordinator to maintain consistency in goals, communication, and independant progress.
  • Daily Notes in consistant with what you see each day with your client on Daily Service Log and filling out Incident Reports (IR's).
  • Use of Mobile App on your Phone to work Paperless.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and or any college courses that apply.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current insurance, with your name showing on the insurance card and insured.
  • Ability to pass an criminal background check and fingerprinting process and or Idaho State Police Identification check.
  • Obtain CPR and First Aid/AED certification within 25 days of hire and maintain certification throughout employment.
  • Experience in direct care, mentoring, or youth support settings is a plus, but not required—we provide training!

Our compassionate and professional staff offer ongoing assistance in with activities of daily living including menu planning, grocery shopping, cooking, household tasks, etc. Staff also support clients in community involvement. The ResHab program provides flexibility, allowing participants to live on their own with staff support as needed.
