Job Description
Job purpose The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining and cleaning community common areas and resident apartments. Duties and responsibilities
• Interacts with residents and staff in a professional, friendly and compassionate manner at all times.
• Provides light housekeeping of resident apartments, including changing/making bed, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, removing trash, vacuuming and mopping.
• Reports any items noticed that need maintenance or repair, including burned out light bulbs, water leaks, etc.
• Maintains stock of supplies including cleaning products, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent and other items needed.
• Launders bed linens and/or resident laundry.
• Cleans and vacuums all common areas in the community.
• Completes make-ready cleaning of vacant resident apartments, which consists of deep cleaning all areas of the apartment, including appliances.
• Maintains a clean work area and keeps cart clean and well organized.
• Meets assigned time requirements as scheduled by supervisor in accordance with company guidelines.
• May serve breakfast and lunch meals to residents in dining room, as needed.
• Understands emergency procedures and MSDS procedures for all chemicals used.
• Understands procedures for blood removal.
• Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department and safety requirements.
• Demonstrates high standards of ethics and personal accountability.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Job requires walking and standing for extended periods of time.
• Push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED.
• General knowledge of sanitation.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively with residents and co-workers in English.
• Demonstrate good judgement skills.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently, as well as with co-workers.
• Demonstrate desire to be a team player.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs.
Working conditions

• May require weekend and holiday work.
• Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections.
Physical requirements
