The Parma Police Department is now accepting applications for a Lateral Police Officer position. We at Parma Police Department embrace the team concept and are currently looking for the right individual to join our team. We are a proactive department with a goal on prevention by partnering with neighbors and community members to make our community a safer place to live, work and play.
Like the community, the Department is growing as well. The Police Chief and the Department have the backing of the City Government and is in the final stages of re-structure. New patrol vehicles, equipment, tech upgrades, and a new facility. We embrace the importance for you to have the proper tools to provide a quality service. This is truly a new Department with bigger and better things on the horizon.
Parma Police Officers perform law enforcement and crime prevention to further the criminal justice process by patrolling an assigned area to observe, monitor, and enforce a wide array of ordinances, laws, and statutes. We partner with our community and neighboring Law Enforcement to provide educational, investigative, and related police services with the goal of preventing crime, ensuring public safety, and developing positive police-citizen relationships. Officers are subject to special assignments, positions, and mandatory in-service training.
Police Officers currently work a modified 10-hour shift. Shifts are subject to rotations and changes to meet the needs of the community. Police Officers are classified as Emergency Essential personnel and are subject to mandatory overtime and recall (with compensation).
