Mechanical Engineering Intern at Cushing Terrell. This is an in-person internship supporting our Mechanical Engineering team on real client projects.
What does this role involve day to day? You will gain hands-on experience performing engineering calculations and designing mechanical systems, including building heating and cooling load calculations.
What will I create? You will help model mechanical and plumbing systems in Revit and AutoCAD, schedule mechanical equipment, and compile project specifications.
What does success look like in this internship? You will review building codes and standards, including IMC, UPC, and ASHRAE, participate in site visits before and during construction, and leave with a clear picture of what it means to work in the AEC industry.
Position Wage Range*The expected wage range for this position is $21.00 to $26.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications**- Completion of 3+ years of a mechanical engineering or related undergraduate program
- Basic knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Bluebeam
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt
- Ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with team members across disciplines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exposure to heating and cooling load calculations
- Interest in mechanical or plumbing system design
- Familiarity with IMC, UPC, ASHRAE, or local building codes
