Job details Hammer Down River Excursions is looking for a Part-Time Reservationist to join our team during the off-season. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, staying organized, and learning the behind-the-scenes operations of a seasonal river excursion and fishing business. The primary focus will be reservations, customer communication, administrative support, and learning our booking and operational systems. The goal is to train the right individual to take on additional responsibilities and potentially transition into the Summer Office Manager position.   **POSITION RESPONSIBILITES**   RESERVATIONS & CUSTOMER SERVICE
  • Manage and update the booking calendar.
  • Respond to customer inquiries by phone and email.
  • Assist clients with reservations, trip information, and scheduling.
  • Maintain consistent communication with current and prospective clients.
  • Conduct pre-trip confirmation calls as needed.
  • Verify meeting locations, waivers, licensing, and outstanding payments.
  • Coordinate special requests and trip details with Captains and Deckhands.

OFFICE & ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

  • Manage the office email inbox and mailbox.
  • Organize and maintain files and folders for upcoming trips.
  • Update booking and customer information.
  • Assist with maintaining Excel spreadsheets and operational records.
  • Assist with preparing trip information and meal-planning documents.
  • Learn company procedures, booking systems, and seasonal office operations.
  • Learn payroll and timecard procedures.
  • Assist with cost tracking and trip analysis.
  • Learn the company’s marketing, website, social media, and email marketing systems.

MARKETING SUPPORT

  • Assist with maintaining the company website.
  • Help create and schedule social media content.
  • Assist with email newsletters and promotional campaigns.
  • Help coordinate marketing initiatives and special events.

Ideal Candidate

  • Friendly, professional, and comfortable communicating with customers.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Comfortable using computers, email, spreadsheets, and online booking systems.
  • Able to work independently once trained.
  • Interested in tourism, hospitality, outdoor recreation, or business operations.
  • Previous customer service, office, reservation, hospitality, or administrative experience is a plus.

POTENTIAL MANAGEMENT TRAINING

  • Learn the responsibilities and systems used by the Summer Office Manager.
  • Assist with scheduling and operational planning.
  • Learn permitting, licensing, reporting, and compliance procedures.
  • Become familiar with USFS and BLM requirements.
  • Assist with inventory and merchandise tracking.

POSITION & SCHEDULE Part-Time | Off-Season Flexible part-time hours during the winter season, with the opportunity for increased responsibility and hours as the summer season approaches.

This position is designed to provide hands-on training in the day-to-day management of Hammer Down River Excursions, with the potential to advance into the Summer Office Manager role.
