Job Description
Driver Instructors are responsible for providing commercial driver training and testing in a classroom, training lab and driving environment. All instructor must have and maintain, at their own expense, a current/valid CDL with all endorsements, DOT Physical, and acceptable driving record. Instruction requires ongoing substantial review of the curriculum and preparation for training, which must occur prior to reporting to work. Driver skill training is a physically demanding job that requires constant, vigorous movement from truck to truck, bending, light lifting, movement in and out of the truck, long hours in the truck, work in the elements and at night, and potential interstate travel during training and to other Company schools. Instructors must take all reasonable precautions to ensure the safe operation of Company equipment. Driver Instructors are subject to compliance with Sage's Instructor Qualification Standards.
