Instructional Program (CIP)

Data Modeling/Warehousing and Database Administration. 110802

Description

SQL Fundamentals: Levels 1 and 2 develops foundational database skills aligned with SOC 15-1242, Database Administrators. Participants learn to retrieve and modify data, use joins and subqueries, and create tables and views. Combined with an Excel Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification, this training prepares students to pursue entry-level data administration and database support positions. The program also prepares participants for the Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Fundamentals certification exam.

This program will expand practical SQL skills for retrieving, analyzing, and managing data in relational databases. Level 1 introduces SQL syntax, keywords, and basic queries to retrieve information. Level 2 builds on these skills through advanced joins, subqueries, data modification, and the creation and management of tables and views.

Designed for participants with basic computer skills and familiarity with database structure and terminology, this program supports workforce readiness for roles involving data reporting, analysis, and database support. Introductory SQL proficiency is required before beginning Level 2.
