Description
This course is for individuals looking to start a career in the construction industry or to advance their career in the construction industry. Students will be required to attend 100 hours of in-person training over a two-week period. Homework is also required. This course is very rigorous, and the hours reflect those worked by individuals in the construction industry. When students complete this course, they will have acquired the following certifications: Erosion & Sediment Control Responsible Person, Competent Person Trenching & Excavation, Competent Person Confined Space, Adult CPR/First Aid/AED, OSHA 10, Traffic Control, 4-hour National Safety Council defensive driving, and Forklift. We also help students acquire a Commercial Driver's License as long as they pass each section required by the FMCSA during the course. Along with the certifications listed, students will be learning the fundamentals of damage prevention on jobsites, Hazcom awareness, communication skills, conflict resolution skills, key traits for employees to advance their careers, and resume building. We will host a 3-hour career fair on the final day of the course. This is a great opportunity for students to meet and interview with potential employers.
